My name is Kjrsten Kay, I’m a twenty-three year old designer and seamstress, with a focus on historical & stage costume.
I’ve been sewing for a little over a decade, and narrowed in my focus to costume design in the past 5 years. Within the past 2 years I’ve started focusing on accurate historical reproductions, with things like materials and techniques in mind when I create my designs.
I have been classically trained in fashion design and pattern drafting at London College of Fashion as well as Columbus College of Art and Design. I love drafting my own patterns, as well as working of period patterns when they are available to me.
When I’m not sewing, I’m researching and sharing my progress and finds. I volunteer as an 1890s living history interpreter as well as being an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. If you’re ever in the kingdom of the middle, drop me a line!
